How do you define if you have had a boyfriend?

im just wondering what i can "count" as a boyfriend and dating and what doesn't

this is the closest expreience i've had to having a boyfriend but i dont know if it really counts: i went out w/ a guy for like 5 months, maybe? we never kissed or went out on dates or anything, we just kinda enjoyed each other's company while we were at school...we e-mailed each other every day and iknew things about him that no one else did, like how he likes stuffed animals and did gymnastics, but that's the same thing that could happen w/ a good friend. i had to kinda force him to take me to homecoming, we just met there didn't go out to dinner or anything and he broke up w/ me b/c he said that i didn' thave enough freedom to be able to do real boyfriend/girlfriend stuff...

if i meet another guy, and i'd like to be his girlfriend or somefink, can i honestly say that he's my first b/c he would be the first guy that i would kiss? did i really have a boyfriend already or just a semi-relationship?

How do you define if you have had a boyfriend?
did the first guy call you his girlfriend? He didn't sound like he was your boyfriend though....but then again, I had a friend who she dated for years and called each other bf/gf and they never even held hands. so...I wouldn't consider him a bf, no.
Reply:You had a weird friendship. Definitely no boyfriend.
Reply:a kiss does not decide whether a guy is your first boyfriend or not. If he broke up with you because you dont have the freedom to be able to do real boyfriend/girlfriend stuff, then it sounds like this guy was your first boyfriend.
Reply:Sweetheart, you had a friend. Kissing seals the deal for a boyfriend! Trust me! Oh, and hold off on the sex and when you do, make sure you use condoms! They'll save your life!
Reply:I would not consider him a boyfriend, so yes he would be your first

Does this picture define the trinity at all?

(i got it from wikipedia, when i searched trinity)

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en...

for those that dont want to click the link it basically says that:

God is the Father

God is the Son

God is the Holy Spirit

the Father is not the Son

the Father is not the Holy Spirit

and the Son is not the Holy Spirit.

basically saying A = B, A = C, A = D

and that B != C != D

yes no maybe so? interpret as you will?

Does this picture define the trinity at all?
lol nice one

people today are dumb enough to belive in a statement that contradicts itself
Reply:Yay Idahomike!

I am glad your faith is strong in God and believe what His word says to be true!
Reply:As mere humans we will never totally understand how the trinity works.

God loves you....God bless
Reply:I get that.

It's like this....

H20 Is Ice when frozen

H20 Is Steam when heated

H20 Is Water when normal temperature

Ice is not steam

Steam is not Ice

Same basic purpose or element in three different parts.
Reply:Sounds about right to me.
Reply:I've never seen a good analogy.

There cannot be 3 seperate entities who also form one entity.

Unless "god" is a committee...which actually kinda makes sense.
Reply:I think it should ALL be IS.
Reply:The first rule of indoctrination - make 'em throw logic out the window.
Reply:i think it does kinda .. i would make the links on the outside "is" also ...
Reply:You'll never find a formula to explain the trinity because it doesn't exist, so it can't compute. One person said 1x1x1=1. It looks good on paper, but doesn't mean anything. How do you multiply the Father by the Son and then by the Holy Spirit?

The very concept of a 3 in 1 trinity is based on division. 1 divided by 3 = .3333333, an imperfect number, if you add them up again, it comes to .9999999. It doesn't even equal a whole number. We know that God is referred to as the Supreme One, not the Supreme fraction.
Reply:Maybe they are all ME!! and I am woman!
Reply:Using logic:

A = B, A = C, A = D

implies that

B = C = D

That diagram doesn't rectify what so many see as a confused doctrine.
Reply:Yeah, uh... NO. The Trinity is NOWHERE in the bible, not even described, so how can Christians, who base their lives on the bible, believe something like the trinity? Actually, it says Jesus is the SON of God, not God himself. I've known that since I first became a Christian, back when I was 4.
Reply:Makes it just a more complex myth.
Reply:It may be a good summary diagram of Trinitarian beliefs (at least the majority), but it is not at all representative of the God of the Bible, who is not a trinity. Humans are made in God's image and likeness -- and we are not triune!
Reply:Whether through a fancy image or not, the trinity is utterly nonsensical. I can make a picture that says a toaster is not a Boeing 747, but a cell phone is both a toaster and an Boeing 747....that still doesn't make sense.

The trinity (a word which never once appears in the bible, and the only reference to it being possible, 1 John 5:7-8, was added to the text centuries later) is simply the result of centuries of arguing amongst various Christian sects. Is Jesus God? Is is human? Is he both? Is he neither?

They finally through up there hands and said, "Ok, Jesus is ALL those things".

Heck, it was the fourth century.....95% of people couldn't read and fewer could reason. They figured it would work, and it did for another thousands years or so until people smartened up.
Reply:Man is flesh

Man is spirit.

Man is soul.

Spirit is not soul.

Yes though each is part of the whole they are not each other.
Reply:Not quite, because if A = B and B = C, then A = C. Elementary math.

Some other illustrations are:

Time = Past, Present, Future. The past is not the future, the future is not the present, etc. Only one Time line.

Matter (using H2O) = solids (ice), liquids (water), and gasses (steam). If you stick one hand in a jar of ice, and the other hand in a jar of hot steam, you can be sure they won't feel the same, yet all three are H2O.

Space consists of length, width and height. The length of the box, while it might be equal to the width, is definitely NOT the width, nor is the height the same as the length.

Man = Body, Soul, Spirit. My soul is not my body, nor is my body the same as my spirit, but there's only one of me.

Keep up the good work.
Reply:The Father is God he is all the God that there is. The Son (Jesus) is God He is all

the God there is. The Holy Spirit is God and again all the God that there is. This

is best understood by the mortal mind by looking at Creation. God has reveled

Himself to us there as well as in the Bible.

The dimension of space are height, width and breadth. Each of these dimensions is

infinite and by that definition each contains all space. Yet these dimension make

up one space.

God is like that each is God all the God that can be because He is infinite yet

these three are the One true God... Jim
Reply:It's kufr so who cares about the fake trinity.
Reply:That seems pretty right.

What's even more interesting is learning about people who don't believe in the trinity. It has some really useful information even if you do believe.
Reply:Not bad: Its okay.

St. Patrick used the three leaf clover to illustrate the Trinity to the heathens in Ireland.

The Father-Monarch did not create the Son, He begat Him. He did not create the Spirit, the Spirit proceeds from Him and the Son. But all this takes place outside of time, in God's dimension: He is triune eternally, from the beginning, and is complete in Himself.

.
Reply:those that deny the trinity and can't comprehend it do not have the Holy Spirit working with them..inside them. Its a very simple thing to understand and its a beautiful thing as well. Those who say it is rediculous should be careful what they say about God. I didn't understand it nor believe it at one time either..but now I do..and as soon as I "got it"! It was the most beautiful , peaceful feeling in the world.

How do define Asia and Europe? (political view)?
To me, Europe is considered the passive superpower which is rising. In order to describe Europe, all you need is two letters: E.U. The European Union is also more in tune with obligations to the people and the environment. Most countries have universal health care, free education, and most importantly, starting to use alternative fuels to combat global warming. The thorn in the E.U. side is West Europe because of totalitarian governments and undermining the citizens liberties. In contrast to them, the continent of Asia will be replaced by India and China in a couple of years. Both countries strive to become superpowers, while facing enormous problems domestically. India might be able to prosper, but unless China becomes a democracy, the People's Republic of China will falter. China only wants to become big, no matter the consequences. (remind you of someone?)

Composite Function?

Let g be the function on the set { a, b, c } defined by g(a) = b, g(b) = c and g(c) = a.

Let f be the function from the set { a, b, c } to the set { 1, 2, 3 } such that f(a) = 3, f(b) = 2 and f(c) = 1.

What is the composite function fg and gf?

Please do show your workings clearly and explain...I have trouble doing this type of question...Thank you!! =D

Composite Function?
In mathematics, a composite function, formed by the composition of one function on another, represents the application of the former to the result of the application of the latter to the argument of the composite. The functions f: X → Y and g: Y → Z can be composed by first applying f to an argument x and then applying g to the result. Thus one obtains a function g o f: X → Z defined by (g o f)(x) = g(f(x)) for all x in X. The notation g o f is read as "g circle f", or "g composed with f", "g following f", or just "g of f".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Function_co...

gf is undefined because g is undefined on the set { 1, 2, 3 }

fg is simply f(g(x)) ie: g(a) = b, f(b) = 2 therefore fg(a) = 2

Liverpool not winning the Champions League isn't that much of a surprise either.I'm not betting on them to get past Inter,at all.

Arsenal players beating each other up...It's just the pressure getting to them. The FA should have stepped in,or the referee.Remember a couple years ago when 2 Newcastle players were fighting between themselves? Both of them got sent off,so should have Adebayor and Bendtner. It's just them cracking up.

Ronaldo having a beauty spa treatment is kinda dubious, although they say he does his hair for like hours before a match.

Define high expectations...How about being pushed as title contenders for the past 18 years and never failing to fall flat on their faces every one of those past 18 years?Currently lying 7th in the table, not even in a European spot.American owners are ****,the manager is ****,the players are ****,and are blaming other **** for their ****.To cut it short, that team is $HIT.

Yes, all the answers are correct.

A determinant is one of the scalar numbers associated with every square matrix. Each square matrix has a unique value of the determinant. Some concepts associated with a determinant:

If the determinant is nonzero, the matrix has an inverse.

If the determinant is nonzero, the denominator of its inverse is a factor of that determinant.

Statistics Task..Please help me...?

A potato chip company packages its potato chips into 12.0 ounce bags. You find it hard to believe that the bag contains enough potato chips to weigh 12.0 ounces and would like to make an official complaint. Before doing so, you decide to run an experiment so that you can have some confidence that the company̢۪s claim is incorrect. Over the next several months you buy 30 bags of potato chips and weigh the contents of each one. You discover that the mean weight is 11.9 ounces with a standard deviation of 0.4 ounces. You decide that you will only complain if you can be 95% sure that the bags do not contain at least 12.0 ounces of potato chips.

Task:

A. Determine if this is a one-tailed or two-tailed test. Justify your decision.

B. State the null hypothesis and alternative hypothesis. Your null hypothesis should assume the company̢۪s claim is correct.

C. Define the term Type I error and explain what a Type I error is in terms of this problem.

Statistics Task..Please help me...?
In all the time it took you to type that in you should have worked on the problem.
Reply:It is a one-tail test, because you are only interested if the weight is less than 12 ounces. The null would be that the weight is equal to 12 and the alternative would be that it is less than twelve. Type One error would be concluding that is not 12 when in fact it is, and Type Two error would be concluding that it is 12 when it is not.
Reply:I'm gonna guess that you are in MQTA right now and confused. Sorry I can't help.

I have 3 questions... please help?

my group and i have a presentation to do and we were unsure about some questions. i dont want to give the class the wrong information so would u please help with these questions?:

1. The elements of the ideological subsystem of a culture

a. are the intangible items giving distintive content and character to a culture

b. summarize a culture's formal organizational structure

c. define its mental and educational capabilities

2. When a social group is unresponsive to a useful innovation, it displays

a. contradiction

b. social retardation

c. cultural lag

3. Ethnic communities are composed of populations with distinguishing

a. cultural heritages

b. music and food preferences

I have 3 questions... please help?
Shall I try to explain these concepts- maybe, it will help you understand better?

1. The ideological subsystem consists of ideas, beliefs, and knowledge of a culture and of the ways in which these things are expressed in speech or other forms of communication. Mythologies and theologies, legend, literature, philosophy, and folk wisdom make up this category. Passed on from generation to generation, these abstract belief systems, or mentifacts, tell us what we ought to believe, what we should value, and how we ought to act. Beliefs form the basis of the socialization process . Therefore, the elements of it are the intangible items giving distintive content and character to a culture.

2. The term cultural lag refers to the notion that society is unable to keep up with the rapid pace of technological change, and that social problems and conflicts are caused by this lag. Social changes tend to "lag" behind technological change. Cultural lag results when a culture's social institutions fails to adapt their functions so as to mesh with the changes in other parts of the larger socio-cultural system.

3. Ethnicity is social identification based on the presumption of shared history and a common cultural inheritance. An ethnic group or ethnicity is a population of human beings whose members identify with each other, either on the basis of a presumed common genealogy or ancestry, or recognition by others as a distinct group, or by common cultural, linguistic, religious, or physical traits. Ethnic communities are therefore, composed of populations with distinguishing cultural heritages.

Determine if set V froms a vector space under vector addition and scalar multiplication?

Let V be the set of 2 × 2 matrices with determinant 1. For two matrices A and B and any scalar c,

define A (circle plus) B = AB and c (circle times) A = cA. Determine if the set V forms a vector space under this vector addition and scalar multiplication.

Determine if set V froms a vector space under vector addition and scalar multiplication?
I don't think that it does because for 2x2 matrices:

det(cA) = c^2*det(A) which is not equal to 1 (when c is not equal to 1) and so is not in the original space.

Construct simple hypothesis tests for means and proportions?

A potato chip company packages its potato chips into 12.0 ounce bags. You find it hard to believe that the bag contains enough potato chips to weigh 12.0 ounces and would like to make an official complaint. Before doing so, you decide to run an experiment so that you can have some confidence that the company’s claim is incorrect. You decide to construct a hypothesis test.

Task:

A. Determine if this is a one-tailed or two-tailed test. Justify your decision.

B. State the null hypothesis and alternative hypothesis. Your null hypothesis should assume the company’s claim is correct.

C. Define the term Type I error and explain what a Type I error is in terms of this problem.

D. Define the term level of significance and identify the level of significance for this problem.

E. Calculate the test statistic as a z-score. Show all relevant work.

F. Using a standard table, you determine that the critical value is –1.645. Determine if you are able to reject the null hypothesis and explain how you reached this conclusion. (Your conclusion should include a comment relating the results to the original problem.)

Construct simple hypothesis tests for means and proportions?
Hypothesis Test for mean:

Assuming you have a large enough sample such that the central limit theorem holds, or you have a sample of any size from a normal population with known population standard deviation, then to test the null hypothesis

H0: μ ≤ Δ or

H0: μ ≥ Δ or

H0: μ = Δ

Find the test statistic z = (xbar - Δ ) / (sx / √ (n))

where xbar is the sample average

sx is the sample standard deviation, if you know the population standard deviation, σ , then replace sx with σ in the equation for the test statistic.

n is the sample size

The p-value of the test is the area under the normal curve that is in agreement with the alternate hypothesis.

H1: μ %26gt; Δ; p-value is the area to the right of z

H1: μ %26lt; Δ; p-value is the area to the left of z

H1: μ ≠ Δ; p-value is the area in the tails greater than |z|

If the p-value is less than or equal to the significance level α, i.e., p-value ≤ α, then we reject the null hypothesis and conclude the alternate hypothesis is true.

If the p-value is greater than the significance level, i.e., p-value %26gt; α, then we fail to reject the null hypothesis and conclude that the null is plausible. Note that we can conclude the alternate is true, but we cannot conclude the null is true, only that it is plausible.

The hypothesis test in this question is:

H0: μ ≥ 12 vs. H1: μ %26lt; 12

The test statistic is:

z = ( 11.9 - 12 ) / ( 0.4 / √ ( 30 ))

z = -1.369306

The p-value = P( Z %26lt; z )

= P( Z %26lt; -1.369306 )

= 0.08545176

Since the p-value is greater than the significance level we fail to reject the null hypothesis and conclude μ ≥ 12 is plausible.

Describe private firm as producer and employer?

a. describe the principal of profit maximization as a goal

b. describe what determines the demand for factors of production

c. define total and average revenue

d. analyze particular situations to show the effects of substituting one factor for another and to show the changes in total and average cost as output changes

e. describe the main reasons for different sizes of firms (size of market; capital; organization)

f. define integration, economies and diseconomies of scale

Describe private firm as producer and employer?
A. All businesses wand to maximize profits while maintaining a competitive price. With the right price and the right profit margin, an item will sell 1,000 units at a margin of 40% and return $400 in pure profits. If the price is too high, then that 1,000 units will turn out to be 250 units, thus lower profits. Too low a price will do the opposite.

B. Demand for domestic production and demand for export production. Retail and cost of the item and the number of outlets for those products.

C. Total is the sum. Average is the average revenue per item.

D. Can't do that in this fashion.

E. Small firms fill specialty niches. Medium firms cater to a specific geographic or demographic area. Large firms cater to all. Efficiencies of scale drive businesses to become larger and more organized.

F. Vertical integration is the development and manufacturing + selling of a product from design to shelf and all other support systems including raw materials.

Economies of scale allow a firm to consolidate and reduce costs and increase scale.

Diseconomies of scale allow for a firm to be agile enough to capitalize on opportunities and make extra profit.

Ap bio question. thank you for helping = )?

im starting ap bio next year. and i have a question i dont know.

1. which molecules bind to the active site of an enzyme?

a. substrate

c. allosteric inhibitor

b. allostaric activator

d. noncompetitive inhibitor

e. b and c

here is another... sometimes the questions are soo easy that they seem like a trick question. = )

Before a controlled experiment can be conducted all the following must be completed EXECPT:

a. form a hypothesis

b. research the problem

c. define the problem

d. analyze the data

ok, well thank you all for your help = )

Ap bio question. thank you for helping = )?
1. A.

A substrate binds to the active site of an enzyme...this interaction brings the activation energy required for the enzyme to perform it's function to a lower degree.

---b. is wrong b/c an allosteric inhibitor binds to an enzyme in a spot other than the active site....an allosteric inhibitor is a noncompetetive inhibitor since it does not block the enzymes active site. Allosteric inhibitors and activators may change the affinity of the substrate for the enzyme, but the allosteric inhibitors/activators do not bind to the active site.

----d. is wrong b/c a noncompetetive inhibitor doesn't compete with the substrate since the noncompetetive inhibitor does not bind to the active site.

SO, FOR QUESTION 1, A IS DEFINITELY CORRECT.

2. D. is the correct answer. The purpose of completing a controlled experiment is to produce data, therefore, data cannot be analyzed until after the experiment has been conducted.

-a hypothesis must be formed in order to determine what data is expected from the experiment, the research problem must also be researched before starting the experiment in order to guide researchers in the proper direction. And of course, the problem must be defined or else there is no experiment to be conducted in the first place.

Do we have d/dx F(x) = d/dx ∫ (over [a,x]) f dm = f(x)?

Suppose the real valued f is defined on [a, b] and, for every c in [a,b], f is Lebesgue integrable, with the Lebesgue measure, over [a, c]. Define F(x) = ∫ (over [a,x]) f dm, x in [a, b], m = Lebesgue measure. Then, is it true that F is differentiable and F'(x) = f(x) for every x in [a, b]?

Thank you

Do we have d/dx F(x) = d/dx ∫ (over [a,x]) f dm = f(x)?
No.

As a trivial counter-example, let f(0)=1 and f(x)=0 elsewhere.

As to the new question, yes. This is a standard theorem; see, e.g., H.L. Royden (1988), REAL ANALYSIS, p. 107.

The proof is actually rather clever, involving a sequence of approximating functions...

a.For what values of the parameter c will Fc have no local maximum or minimum? Use calculus

b.Are there any values of the parameter c for which Fc will have exactly one horizontal tangent line?

Ok I graphed it, but how do you get the local maximum and minimum by using calculus? and how do you get the values for the horizontal tangent line? I'd appreciate any help.

Thank You.

Weird maximum and minimums question?
yes, very!
Reply:Fc(x) = x^3+2x^2+cx

Fc'(x) = 3x^2+4x+c

a. You are looking for the case where Fc'(x) = 0 has no solutions. Fc'(x) is a quadratic. So check the discriminant.

4^2-4*3*c %26lt; 0

16-12c %26lt;0

16 %26lt; 12c

4/3 %26lt; c

b. You're looking for the case where there's exactly 1 solution for Fc'(x) = 0. Once again, check the discriminant.

4^2-4*3*c = 0

16-12c = 0

16 = 12c

4/3 = c
Reply:Differentiate fc(x) and equate to zero to get the stationary points - substitute into Fc(x) to get the y-coordinates.

Differentiate again and stick your values for x in. When your answer is positive, the point is a local minimum. When your answer is negative, the point is a local maximum.
Reply:Take the derivative of Fc(x) with respect to x

you get

dFc/dx = 3x/3 + x + c

for there to be no local min or max dFc/dx cannot = 0

so find the ranges where 3x/3+x+c = 0, for each of those values of c (plug in c, solve for x), then say that the range was every number but those values you get for x.

When defining an integer as a formula, how do i note an exponent like 10 cubed. Im writing a c++ program.?

Here is an example of what im asking.

int newBal = base * ( 1 + rate )[exponent] /* this is my question

What is the correct way of putting in an exponent? Simple question with a simple answer i hope. thanks

When defining an integer as a formula, how do i note an exponent like 10 cubed. Im writing a c++ program.?
I forget, but doesn't c++ have the built in pow

in java its Math.pow(10,2)

Found it

#include%26lt;math.h%26gt;.

Here we note only two:

pow( base, exponent) used to write powers, for example in order to write x5 we write POW(x,5).

exp( exponent ) used to write exponential, for example in order to write e5x we write exp(5*x)

If a triangle is defined by the three points A(2,-5,1), B(-3,2,4), and C(0,3,1), how to find its area?

the area can be found using matrix method........

ie., if any 3 points say A(a,b,c), B(x,y,z) and C(l,m,n)

then the area of this triangle is

a b c

x y z

l m n

similarly

2 -5 1

-3 2 4

0 3 1

2(2-12) + 5(-3) +1(-9)

-20 -15-9

-44

since area cannot be negative the answer is 44 sq units

If a triangle is defined by the three points A(2,-5,1), B(-3,2,4), and C(0,3,1), how to find its area?
u can use the Vector Cross Product

What are a set of well-defined steps for performing a task or solving a problem called in c++?

An Algorithm

(no relation to the 2000 presidential candidate who invented the Internet).

What are a set of well-defined steps for performing a task or solving a problem called in c++?
That would depend on what you are doing. If you are creating ("writing") new software as part of the task, that is called "Coding". If you happen to be looking at code that has already been written and doing some small changes so that is works better, that is a subset of coding, called "Debugging". If you are just looking at code to get ideas about how certain things can be done , then that is called "Reading". If you are doing a combination of all these things, that is an industry called "Software Development". Some people call the hard part of coding "Hacking". "Kernel Hacking" is something I could never do, for example, but some people, like Linus Torvalds "creator of Linux", have no problem with it.

And ya, a series of steps, often in a computer language like "BASIC", "ALGOL", "Pascal", "Python", "Java" or "C++" is an Algorithm.

Reply:Sorry dude, try reading the book these are simple questions you should be able to answer easily.

Next time you try to cheat loser, don't ******* report me for telling you to read the damn book. If your that stupid, don't get into programming. Report It

Reply:While I certainly could answer all of these questions, your best bet would be to work it out for yourself and then to simply try each of them out in VB itself. You'll have better retention for the exam, if you've worked through each guess you got wrong.

It would not take very long to do that either, .5 - 1 hours total for the 25 questions.
