Does this picture define the trinity at all?

(i got it from wikipedia, when i searched trinity)

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en...

for those that dont want to click the link it basically says that:

God is the Father

God is the Son

God is the Holy Spirit

the Father is not the Son

the Father is not the Holy Spirit

and the Son is not the Holy Spirit.

basically saying A = B, A = C, A = D

and that B != C != D

~.^

yes no maybe so? interpret as you will?

Does this picture define the trinity at all?
lol nice one

people today are dumb enough to belive in a statement that contradicts itself
Reply:Yay Idahomike!

I am glad your faith is strong in God and believe what His word says to be true!
Reply:As mere humans we will never totally understand how the trinity works.

God loves you....God bless
Reply:I get that.

It's like this....

H20 Is Ice when frozen

H20 Is Steam when heated

H20 Is Water when normal temperature

Ice is not steam

Steam is not Ice

Same basic purpose or element in three different parts.
Reply:Sounds about right to me.
Reply:I've never seen a good analogy.

There cannot be 3 seperate entities who also form one entity.

Unless "god" is a committee...which actually kinda makes sense.
Reply:I think it should ALL be IS.
Reply:The first rule of indoctrination - make 'em throw logic out the window.
Reply:i think it does kinda .. i would make the links on the outside "is" also ...
Reply:You'll never find a formula to explain the trinity because it doesn't exist, so it can't compute. One person said 1x1x1=1. It looks good on paper, but doesn't mean anything. How do you multiply the Father by the Son and then by the Holy Spirit?

The very concept of a 3 in 1 trinity is based on division. 1 divided by 3 = .3333333, an imperfect number, if you add them up again, it comes to .9999999. It doesn't even equal a whole number. We know that God is referred to as the Supreme One, not the Supreme fraction.
Reply:Maybe they are all ME!! and I am woman!
Reply:Using logic:

A = B, A = C, A = D

implies that

B = C = D

That diagram doesn't rectify what so many see as a confused doctrine.
Reply:Yeah, uh... NO. The Trinity is NOWHERE in the bible, not even described, so how can Christians, who base their lives on the bible, believe something like the trinity? Actually, it says Jesus is the SON of God, not God himself. I've known that since I first became a Christian, back when I was 4.
Reply:Makes it just a more complex myth.
Reply:It may be a good summary diagram of Trinitarian beliefs (at least the majority), but it is not at all representative of the God of the Bible, who is not a trinity. Humans are made in God's image and likeness -- and we are not triune!
Reply:Whether through a fancy image or not, the trinity is utterly nonsensical. I can make a picture that says a toaster is not a Boeing 747, but a cell phone is both a toaster and an Boeing 747....that still doesn't make sense.

The trinity (a word which never once appears in the bible, and the only reference to it being possible, 1 John 5:7-8, was added to the text centuries later) is simply the result of centuries of arguing amongst various Christian sects. Is Jesus God? Is is human? Is he both? Is he neither?

They finally through up there hands and said, "Ok, Jesus is ALL those things".

Heck, it was the fourth century.....95% of people couldn't read and fewer could reason. They figured it would work, and it did for another thousands years or so until people smartened up.
Reply:Man is flesh

Man is spirit.

Man is soul.

Flesh is not spirit.

Spirit is not soul.

soul is not flesh.

Yes though each is part of the whole they are not each other.
Reply:Not quite, because if A = B and B = C, then A = C. Elementary math.

Some other illustrations are:

Time = Past, Present, Future. The past is not the future, the future is not the present, etc. Only one Time line.

Matter (using H2O) = solids (ice), liquids (water), and gasses (steam). If you stick one hand in a jar of ice, and the other hand in a jar of hot steam, you can be sure they won't feel the same, yet all three are H2O.

Space consists of length, width and height. The length of the box, while it might be equal to the width, is definitely NOT the width, nor is the height the same as the length.

Man = Body, Soul, Spirit. My soul is not my body, nor is my body the same as my spirit, but there's only one of me.

Keep up the good work.
Reply:The Father is God he is all the God that there is. The Son (Jesus) is God He is all

the God there is. The Holy Spirit is God and again all the God that there is. This

is best understood by the mortal mind by looking at Creation. God has reveled

Himself to us there as well as in the Bible.

The dimension of space are height, width and breadth. Each of these dimensions is

infinite and by that definition each contains all space. Yet these dimension make

up one space.

God is like that each is God all the God that can be because He is infinite yet

these three are the One true God... Jim
Reply:It's kufr so who cares about the fake trinity.
Reply:That seems pretty right.

What's even more interesting is learning about people who don't believe in the trinity. It has some really useful information even if you do believe.
Reply:Not bad: Its okay.

St. Patrick used the three leaf clover to illustrate the Trinity to the heathens in Ireland.

Reply:I get it. Its fine for me. MG
Reply:God is Love;

Love needs an object;

God is self-sufficient and needs noone outside of God;

Love is ever creative, abundant and life-giving!

From Love proceeds Love!

The Father-Monarch did not create the Son, He begat Him. He did not create the Spirit, the Spirit proceeds from Him and the Son. But all this takes place outside of time, in God's dimension: He is triune eternally, from the beginning, and is complete in Himself.

.
Reply:those that deny the trinity and can't comprehend it do not have the Holy Spirit working with them..inside them. Its a very simple thing to understand and its a beautiful thing as well. Those who say it is rediculous should be careful what they say about God. I didn't understand it nor believe it at one time either..but now I do..and as soon as I "got it"! It was the most beautiful , peaceful feeling in the world.
Reply:No that diagram is ridiculous.

This picture is the one that defines the Trinity:

Reply:i prefer the clover and the triangle
Reply:yes it does.
Reply:The Blessed Trinity consists of 3 unique persons but there is only one God.

This is one of God's mysteries, its not for open interpretations because we are not at a high enough level to understand. Understanding comes after we move on to the next ethereal plane.
Reply:LoL.
