Pantone C, U, M?

Each spot color in the Pantone system is assigned a number and a letter suffix, who can define what the different types of coating mean? My understanding of the letter suffixes is as follows :





C coated = glossy or shiny





U uncoated = not glossy or shiny





M matte = leather/rubber feel
