Define gametophyte, sporophyte, zygote, spore, gamete?

Define gametophyte, sporophyte, zygote, spore, gamete

AND:

b.Indicate whether the structure is haploid or diploid.

c.Indicate which of the other structures is produced by the one listed.

d.Indicate the process (mitosis, meiosis, or fertilization) by which the subsequent structure is produced

Define gametophyte, sporophyte, zygote, spore, gamete?
gametophyte is the haploid generation

sporophyte is the diploid generation

spore is the sperm of a plant released by fungi and moss

gamete are sex cells like egg and sperm formed by meiosis (sperm- spermatogenesis / egg-oogenesis)

mitosis is used for growth and always produces and identical sister cell to the parent cell

(prophase,metaphase,anaphase,telophase...

meosis is a division with crossing over (prophase I) for variation and disjunction on anaphase I. also from diploid the cells turn haploid

Prophase I,metaphase I,anaphase I, telophase I, cytokenisis, prophase II, metaphase II, anaphase II, telophase II, cytokensis
Reply:a gametophyte is the multicellular structure, or phase, that is haploid, containing a single set of chromosomes.

All land plants, and some algae, have life cycles in which a haploid gametophyte generation alternates with a diploid sporophyte, the generation of a plant or alga that has a double set of chromosomes.

A zygote is a cell that is the result of fertilization. Diploid.

a spore is a reproductive structure that is adapted for dispersal and surviving for extended periods of time in unfavorable conditions.

A gamete is a cell that fuses with another gamete during fertilization (conception) in organisms that reproduce sexually.
Reply:gametophyte- a male reproductive cell

sporophyte- female reproductive cell

zygote- no idea don't remember

spore- female parts

gamete- in a plant its pollen in guys its sperm.
