Define and distinguish between following?

(a) hypothesis(spactulation) and scintific theory

(b) observation test and experimental test

(c) inductive and deductive logic

Define and distinguish between following?
A hypothesis is a statement defining relationships at least between two variables with respect to any scientific area. A scientific theory is a set of postulates you use to formulate hypothesis, hypothesis are usually based on scientific theories or models.

An observation test is just observing the phenomenon without intervening, the observer/tester records all the information possible about the phenomenon studied as it occurred. While an experimental test implies manipulation by the scientist/researcher, so s/he creates certain conditions in order to test this manipulation in an observable and recordable data.

And the difference between inductive and deductive logic is the direction you take, inductive is going from simple observations to formulate a theory and deductive is the other way around, going from theory to observable facts. Good luck!!
Reply:(a) a hypothesis is an educated guess. that means you guess on the outcome before you have all the scientific facts. a scientific theory is something that you come up with based on the facts, experiments, etc you have gathered.

(b) an observation test means you observe only. just look and write down what you see. an experimental test means you actualy conduct an experiement where you do more than looking. you mix things together or try different things and then jot down what results you get.

(c) i don't know that one. i used to!!
