home science question class 12th C.B.S.E

Define health and disease?
Health : The overall condition of an organism at a given time.

Disease : A pathological condition of a part, organ, or system of an organism resulting from various causes, such as infection, genetic defect, or environmental stress, and characterized by an identifiable group of signs or symptoms.
Reply:Health : PSM defines health as " a state of Physical, mental and spiritual well being characterised by the all bodily function are within noramal limits"

Disease Any deviation from health is disease
Reply:Health is the absense of disease.
Reply:Health-It is condition of a particular body.

Disease-malfunctioning of body.
Reply:It is rather unfair to ask such a complex question for which no intellegent person would claim to have an absolute or comprehensive answer. I use the words which I have been taught in community medicine and pathology for health and disease respectively.

Health is a state of Physical, mental and spiritual well being characterised by the abscence of disease

Disease is the destabilisation of the normal processes beyond the compensatory mechanisms of the body.
Reply:HEALTH

Health is the level of functional and/or metabolic efficiency of an organism at both the micro(cellular) and macro(social) level. In the medical field, health is commonly defined as an organism's ability to efficiently respond to challenges (stressors) and effectively restore and sustain a "state of balance," known as homeostasis.

DISEASE

A disease is an abnormal condition of an organism that impairs function. In human beings, "disease" is often used more broadly to refer to any condition that causes discomfort, dysfunction, distress, social problems, and/or death to the person afflicted, or similar problems for those in contact with the person. In this broader sense, it sometimes includes injuries, disabilities, disorders, syndromes, infections, isolated symptoms, deviant behaviors, and atypical variations of structure and function, while in other contexts and for other purposes these may be considered distinguishable categories. This article primarily describes human diseases, one of man's greatest enemies.
Reply:HEALTH-normal, EASY, functioning of the body systems.

DISEASE-abnormal functioning of these systems and inability to compensate for them. 'dis-ease'
